Why Me, the Sun?!
By:
Gesenia Burley
I am a small star
Burning brighter than the others
I sit in the middle
While planets like Earth; Jupiter and Mars
All orbit me!
What makes me special,
A small burning gas?
In size I am small
Yet strong and powerful
People wonder at me in awe
Why me?
I can create growth
I can kill off life;
Choosing life more of the both
What makes me special,
A small burning gas?
Kingdoms admire me
Strong with many rulers, leaders.
Looking above them, they see;
Me! The Sun
What makes me special,
A small burning gas?
My creator!
My designer!
Chose me a small star
To be seen from a far
For He sees no flaw,
No size!
Anyone can be used, by His law.
What an amazing design!

- Comment from author about the poem: I am inspired by nature, flowers, and plants. I am not the hugest fan of being outdoors. I just admire the beauty of it all. I saw a picture that my friend had drawn; and was inspired to write this poem.
