Don The Cloak, Leave It Behind

poetboy5454

I find it easy to slip on the mask

Leaving my old reality behind me

Grinning in school, finishing the task

Using lies as a cage to be free

Put it off, gotta keep it off my mind

Questions, some with answers I don't want to find

Clocks ticking, I still have time

Hard to find the words, over here I'll just rhyme

Despite the dark clouds gathering

Paint the perfect portrait filled with sunshine

Hiding the canvas that would leave a sting

Forget the problems, everything is fine

RING!!!

Time's up, guess I'm out of luck

I'm not new to what I know I'll face

Trying to move forward, but I'm stuck

Fading, fading, finally no trace
