- It popped in as if to say hello
- my birdie buddy all sweet and mellow
- Dressed in a downy gold gown of yellow
- I tried to cheep in tune, join its song to say
- 'welcome my chirping lil fellow
- Oh my it sang then like a feathered cello!
- So hi and hello mypoeticsiders and twitter tweet tweet
- May you find this short 'n' very merry sweet , sweet
- This was in honour of my winged guest of honour
- For I fawn over you birdie, I'm your fan , a bird lover
- Build your nest in my poet's corner, I'm your fawner
- Lil birdie you are my VIP, be my guest of honour

Happy and Edgar Allen Poe are not oft mentioned in the same breath
Very good write. I encourage birds into my garden and my wife and I get lost in their antics and their songs.
Wow so nice to know. That's what I do exactly!!! Lovely goldfinch profile pic.
The picture is one that I have taken in the garden. The image on here does not do the real photograph justice.
That's a really good effort S.Zaynab .
Enjoyed it . I also love birds. Especially Robins
Thanx so much Shakerite for dropping by. Robins eh, wow nice. I'm partial to all mostly. Cheers.
A charm of a tribute to the lovely canary - in Cornwall U.K. we have no wild yellow-wings but built an aviary for canaries and love to listen to their trilling songs. As a bird-lover this is a delightful read and thanks for sharing your welcome visitor.
