Humility Honouring

orchidee

Fits tune: Ellingham

(One tune to 'Gentle Jesus meek and mild')

Based on part of Philippians Chapter 2

********

Grant me help, humility

May I your example see

Christ, of your life lowly, meek

I your nature more do seek

Though not solely meek and mild

But you holy, undefiled

Having too judgement, anger

When righteously it you stir

Yet by grace tempered it is

You us favour, here true bliss

To know you the lowly one

You redemption's work have done

So exalted now on high

You the one who ne'er shall die

Taking up your servant role

To save us and make us whole

May our minds be set that they

Lovingly do watch and pray

Seeking not our good only

But that all live prosperously

Patient here in suffering

You your comforts to us bring

Cross before crown, no detour

Outcome, glory evermore

All to Jesus' name shall bow

Whether they do here and now

Yet shall bow in final day

Honour Him as King alway

And too every tongue confess

Jesus Christ is Lord, Him bless

To the glory of God high

He, Christ's Father, and ours, nigh
