The love that you find hurts
like losing a child that wasn't even born.
Love is like water,
like the stories you tell.
It teaches you how to love
but doesn't teach you how to forget.
The perfect guy leaves
but doesn't come back.
Each night she prays she can wake up
with a text from him.
Each moment of her life she cannot stop thinking
about him like yearly ice melts into rain.
You miss his affection and kisses,
the hopes that he would come back.
But you need to understand the dream you had,
it’s already rotting like a dead racoon.
She doesn't show that smile
because she cannot fake it.
The person she was isn't the same.
Love is another reason she gave up
without looking
back.
