Bright Yellow Light Bulbs

Clark

You lean on me

You want to be heard so I will listen

I can't speak

I can write

This may be cliche but

You will be okay

Sometimes light bulbs need to be replaced

For new ones to shine

I wonder if this poem is enough

I wonder if anything I will ever do for you

Will ever be

Enough

Your face is red while

Your insides are blue

But the sun is always

Yellow

I'll lay down my sweater so

Your slippers won't get wet

From the melting snow

All I know is that

When I'm with you

The stars shine so bright
