Just One Last Look

Jarid

Say it isn't over, my love! Please don't set me free.
How could I go on, my dear, without you next to me?

What else can I do and say to bring your love back?
I've given you my all and won't apologize for that.

You don't understand that you're truly my whole world.
You'll never understand. You're my diamond and my pearl.

I know you have to leave, my love. Your family's back home.
But how am I to breathe without you? How could I go on?

I have one thing to ask of you. Oh hear this plea of mine.
Just let me gaze upon your face just for the very last time.

Just let me hold a memory of you before you walk away.
I want to keep this image of you each second, hour and day.

Just one last look is all I need to pull myself through.
I want to keep this picture in mind in all I'll go through.

We had so much fun together. Those days I'll truly miss.
Now let me press my lips to thine to give thee one last kiss.

Just promise me you'll think of me. I'll always think of you.
Already missing you, sweetheart. I'll never get over you.

Honey, there's the call. It's time for you to board your train.
Now it's starting to sink in. Oh no, my life won't be the same!

My love, oh my love, I feel the tears come from my eyes!
I'm looking back at yours as I'm starting to see you cry.

Hold me again sweetheart, for I know that this is it.
Take with you my heart as I surrender this last kiss.

Let me take one look at you before you are gone.
Just this one last look so your image will live on and on.

You pull away from my grasp and blow me a kiss goodbye.
You turn to board your train. My heart is breaking deep inside.

You sit at your window with tears in eyes as you stare.
Without you, sweetheart, I know my life will go nowhere.

The train blows its whistle. It starts to roll and begins to leave.
I feel my heart aching. It's getting harder for me to breathe.

I wave a final goodbye. The distance takes you from view.
How can I do this, babe? I can't live without you!
