The Rain Smelling Snow

mountainman999

She loved the rain.
The smell across the rooftops,
The sound of the rolling thunder it brings,
The cool revelation it introduces to the air.
Being encumbered in its peace,
Makes her happy.

Until the one day she hung up her phone.
The rain chilled to snow.
But it's smell carried across the rooftops.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I tried to make this as abstract and up for interpretation as I could. There was a certain event that happened that inspired the poem, but I doubt anyone will imagine that scenario. Enjoy!

I've recently published a poem here which contains the line 'the rain that washed the sky'. Well this came to mind when reading this super little poem - much enjoyed it.
