Shadows

poetboy123

I've done too many things, now there is no way to go back

Forgotten trust and love, keeping up my attack

So why do you continue holding out your hand?

Bowing in the darkness, in the light I'll never stand

The past is my shadow, I can never leave it behind

Sins etched upon my path, guilty weight upon my mind

Or at least it used to be, now everything I touch dies

Once I struggled for the truth, now I surrender to the lies

Eyes are a window, you choose what you see through them

And although goodness once found its way to my heart

Long before had cruelty decided to precondemn

From the blood from my viciousness, I painted a new kind of art

Don't you understand, for me there is no more going back

I've lost too much of myself now, what's the reason to attack?

Maybe this should end, should I finally take your hand?

Once kneeling in the darkness, in light will I stand?
