Disdain the rose that so shallow waits upon the bedside table
And step aside from willing words that bid thee to enable
A violet so blue would not blush upon such faces as lies unbidden
Look instead into intentions true, and know the lust there hidden.
A rose so red would not blush so brightly as the intentions within thy toils
And as soft as lovers touches when trapped within thy coils
As faint heart doth break on soft words unbidden
Remember thy bedside manner for thy sins are unforgiven

Welcome SH ~ Thank you for your first poem which is very romantic and couched in elegant language ! The redness of the Rose dies speak of LOVE but also of LUST. In my experience the blueness of the violet also seaks of LOVE butthe ardour is cooler ! Thanks for haring. Please check my poems ~ BRIAN (UK)
Thank you, happy that you like it. I've been writing for years just haven't had many positive reactions. Again, thank you!
