Collapse

The ground beneath me collapses and I fall

I hang below, one hand clasped on the rock

The wind begins to blow on me, but I stall

Clinging for my life, time's running on the clock

Lightning strikes and rains plummet on me

Refuse to give up life, live on, I must survive

Suddenly I've fell, and I drop deep into the sea

Waves rising as I gasp for air, struggling to stay alive

Until I submerge and submit and sink into the dark

An ocean of void around me, somehow breathing breathlessly

I freeze and witness my doom swim, in the form of shark

Weakly I thrash, as deep within my soul yearns to be free

Light breaks through, shattering this starless night

A flame grows fierce and joins me in my plight

Finally the tides recede, I launch and take flight

For despite these lies I will return the light
