The Flag

allfourwalkers

The tautness of The Flag Against the bitter wind

Gives comfort to some

The austerity of the pole

Its simplicity

Gives comfort to others

The blue sky behind

Some can see it

It’s always there

For others, it is endless

Blue, grey, white

Maybe red, white, blue

Difficult to comprehend

The Sun shines, but Today - it is not warm

Always there

Hopefully tomorrow it warms

WELCOME FRIEND ~ Thanks for your first poem ~ love it. In the UK wherever we turn the flags are ther to remind us that we are Four Nations
England Scotland Wales & N. Ireland and of course its backdrop the everchanging SKY. It's the same in ther USA ~ the 50 stars~ one for each State in the Union and the stripes the original Founding States ~ The mystery of history ! The American Sky is also consistent but its cloud cover changes every minute. Thanks for caring & sahring ~ BRIAN (UK) ~ please check my poems ~ Thanks B.

I like this. Its a warm poem that doesn't push anything radical. I enjoyed reading it.

I feel sure this isn't about a flag. I dont quite know what but it has some good phrases. Well done
