Give unto us Lord, your servants peace

Which the world cannot give, does cease

To satisfy, we retain our rest

With peace you give us, we are blest

 

We ask, give us peace, for causes two

Come to us here, and us renew

That our hearts they would here true be set

To obey your commands, not fret

 

And also that we defended be

Kept by you from fear of enemy

So that we here shall then pass our time

In rest and quietness, life's rhyme

 

And so we asked, pleaded to you above

Trusting in your only Son's love

You will give peace, Christ's peace promised, He

Our good Shepherd shall ever be

Lighten our darkness, Lord, we beseech

And by your great mercy do each

Defend from all perils, dangers too

Of this night, for love of [your] Son true
