Here I am

I never get so angry that I want to explode,

and I never get so down that my emotions erode

But here I am!

Here I am in a place that I've never been,

Memories flashing by, in the end depression wins.

But I still get up!

Even if I'm living a lie,

I'll never let up!

Not till the day I die.

Because I'm out here trying to make a name for myself,

Can't let my emotions put success on a shelf

Here I am!

And There I go out the door,

Cigarette on my lips

Tons weighing down my mind

And I'm just waiting to slip

On the ice that covers my path

to give in and accept the aftermath.

But I won't!

I won't slow down, not for a second
