Reprieve

jlm1981

Lying so desolate in the darkness

my thoughts merge towards you

conscious attempts of repression void

voices of yesterday scream in the silence

taunting me of every wrong turn taken

searching

for even a brief moment of serenity

instead I am cradled by pandemonium

remorse of irrecoverable opportunity

barely grasping the edge of sanity

seeking reprieve of my self condemnation
