Baby Leo

mariannebmo

Born in a flurry

Thrust into their lives

A few hours of worry,

A priceless surprise.

A little face, bright

Plump fresh and new

Love for that boy

Their hearts never knew.

Plans in the autumn

To meet in the spring

Never once suspecting

Such an early meeting

Lovely young Leo

Lighting the way

Blessing and fighting

That January day.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Just a little poem I wrote in Jan 2015, following my nephew being born a little prematurely - he was and is absolutely fine but we were all shocked by his early arrival!
