Me vs me

In my head are where the demons sleep

When I wake that's when reality hits

Am I dreaming or is this for real?

I'm fighting with my own body

I'm fighting with my mind

Lord knows how much I've cried

Someone please take me out of my painful mind.

    Great write! That's a good thing to think about, people may look fine, but really they might be fighting battles we know nothing about.

      Yes some people are really good with hiding their emotions and are really the most cheerful person in front of others but when alone are when the emotions and everything seems to kick in that no one knows about.

          That's so true. I guess often time people are too worried with worldly affairs to be at peace . Maybe the ways that you are at war with yourself are awfully personal you're forced to mask it all

                  I get it, and being a poet can make it worse at times. Maybe because we're more aware of our emotions, and poetry gives us a way to express them. BUT, there are times I just want to stop thinking all together, cos of so many different issues I'm trying to deal with. For me at least, I find as a poet, I sometimes get to caught up in my thoughts and feelings and it's difficult to shut my mind off.
                  Thanks for expressing what I think many of us feel from time to time in this well conceived poetic piece.
