Empty Lake

Liam Lawless

I stood and stared across the lake,

looking deep into the obis within,

It made me shiver, it made me shake.

Mighty waves, so fragile and thin.

I stood and stared at mankind,

I'm ashamed at what I did find.

Gadgets, pain, sorrow, destruction,

greed, weapons, murder and corruption.

I dove deeper and what did I find?

Cures and food and so many solutions,

fish of beauty, Ever so kind

then out of my eye, I saw the pollution,

a beautiful swan, elegant and free,

untangled from a net by me.

Tears, cuts and plenty of pain.

Because humanity has become too vain.

Thank you. The real issue is that some people still deny that there is a problem to solve.

Yes, totally agree but they just don't want to seek the truth.
