Requiem for a Dream

Gino

Always searching out for that
which has already found us

Forever seeking for that longing peace
in every vice and wrong turn

Continually coveting vs. our ancient struggle of morals
that haunts us with an undying guilt

Stubbornly trudging till the end of our line,
while forsaking the endless footprints in the sand
that traveled along in all our ways

Finding no lasting fulfillment to promise us

a more permanent world,
but still reaching out for that which cannot fill

Pondering on a shallow crusade to find ourselves roundabout
in the same old masquerade...

…Clinging to the only sunset we've ever known

as if it were our last farewell,…

…All the while, coasting our imminent stare into that beautiful mystery
that awaits us tomorrow…

A foreboding nightmare stables upon our deserted dreams,
undertaking woes from a nostalgia still underlining beneath the break

For our world is broken and corrupt beyond saving,
our material and glamour have become our gods,

but they do not heal

We have been completely comforted by their lies,
for they are only temporal devices to enslave us

Requiem for a dream,
I sometimes wonder if I'll ever find you truly...

...And through His precious blood
that shed our cross and pardoned our dying ways,
I'll set my faith in that which He overcame
to save the eternal part of me

For in His light...
there shall be no more shadows
to conjure up the bounds
of our past sojourn

Very good and very true write. The lines
"For our world is broken and corrupt beyond saving,
our material and glamour have become our gods,
but they do not heal "
    say it all.
