Things I Have Learned in Life

Vena Wolf

Cranes, when they mate,

They mate for life.

Sometimes you can get sick.

A woman lays on a hospital bed,

The heart monitor beeping steadily.

But with just the wink of an eye,

The light inside her dies.

I found what love is but at the cost of a broken heart.

Some people live long happy lives,

And others are taken way before their time.

For when I die, I’d like it to be at night

in my true love’s arms. That way, I’ll have

the moonlight lead me through the dark night,

and I’ll always remember the warmth of his touch.

In heaven one angel’s job is to

Watch over my loved ones, and make sure they are safe,

And to protect them till we reunite in the light of another life.
