It only goes one way.
I love you.
Your stupid hair,
Your mischievously perfect smile,
Your “I am the best at everything” attitude,
I could go on.
I see your pain, and I share it
You see my pain, but you cause it
I feel your sorrow,
You feel nothing.
I once told you, you were my closest friend
You once told me, I always know how to cheer you up
You know me better than I know myself
Cheer me up now
The tears I cry are for you
Your eyes are dry
My love is a one way street.
My heart is breaking
Yours is healing
Does she make you whole again?

WELCOME FRIEND ~ Thanks for your first poem ~ Powerfully penned and one many of us can empathise with. As we progress from our teens into adulthood and our 30's we fall in and out of love many times. In my experience ~ Love is (sometimes) a One-way Street at a other times a cul-de-sac (dead end !) or a roundabout ~ It goes round in circles and gets nowhere ! My Philosophy always is "Better to have loved and lost ~ than never to have loved at all !". You can only learn about love from personal experience ! Thanks for caring and sharing !
