Fits tune: Malvern
(One tune to 'Jesus where'er they people meet')
Based on parts of Matthew Chapter 27
********
When Judas found Jesus condemned
He did seek his life to amend
But sad his fate, blood-money paid
The price for Jesus' betrayal made
Though showing remorse, silver gave
He back to priests, but it they waived
Then 'twas the end of Judas, see
End of his life disastrously
Then at trial, there Pilate's wife
She in a dream had suffered strife
Advised Pilate not to ensue
Anything with Jesus, not do
But religious leaders incite
To make the crowd with all their might
Cry 'Crucify', Jesus to tree (cross)
And prisoner Barabbas free
Delivered was He to their will
As frenzied they bayed for blood still
And washing hands there in their sight
Pilate disowned them, took his flight
Then mocked and jeered, and crown of thorn
As innocent Lamb he was shorn
Crucified, darkness o'er all the land
As if akin to dust-storm's sand
At Jesus' death the Temple veil
Tore top to bottom, sure, not fail
And earth did quake and rocks did rend
Victory, triumph, the outcome, end

Try the tune 'Wareham' too, if you're into music a lot. Sometimes there are several tunes to one hymn!
Great write
