How Long

poetboy123

How long will you listen to their false promises and lies?

In the midst of injustice what will make you rise?

Against these forces that threaten to tear us apart

During these "justified wars" the only victims are the people and their broken hearts

How long will you continue to watch and stand idly by?

Blood raining over our heads, engulfing us, as the innocents die

Staying in our little bubble, safe from the rest of the world

Then ask yourself who you are, is this how you want your story told?

How long will we sit and let these decisions be made for us again and again?

We continue to pick up our arms instead of our pens

Why give every problem we face with the same solution that doesn't work?

This is the time to take responsibility for the duty we've shirked

How long will it take for us to realize

That we must never accept their lies

That it is time to stop sitting and time to rise

To end this corruption, or wait till the next person dies?
