Fits tune: Easter Hymn
('Jesus Christ is risen today')
******
'Alleluia'! is sung after every line
There we on a green hill fair - Alleluia!
We in Christ's passion did share
Walked along the road He trod
Followed Him, the Son of God
We recalled too of His suffering
Which our salvation did bring
Now we share in Easter sure
Christ does live for evermore
Pray for peace of [Jeru]Salem here
Many troubles world does fear
But Christ, Lord, He King of Kings
Let all that has breath, Him sing
Burst the gates, the gates of hell
Deaths' victory gone, we do tell
Christ has dealt with death's sharp sting
Sins forgiven, let praises ring
Shine, arise, the dayspring dawns
Downcast souls no longer mourn
For the light of life is risen
Opened tomb of death's dark prison
Pray for peace in every nation
Joy and hope and true elation
Darkness scattered, love unfeigned
Scars still shown where he was pained
Visitors to garden tomb
Found Him there not, empty room
He the perfect work has done
Resurrected, Holy Son - Alleluia!
