Weight of the World

poetboy123

Times when life seems to be crushing you

Taking every once of being to stay sane

Holding on to something, praying it's true

Never letting go as you crack from the pain

Feel the weight of the world on your back

Spots covering your vision as you tumble on

Pushing forward and no time to slack

Until you fade away and then you're gone

Clinch to your heart and look to the sky

Rise past your barriers begin to fly

Rip off the chains that keep you down

Even if it's just a moment you won't drown

Carry this responsibility to your grave

Last through the ocean of misery, wave by wave

Let your hope flourish where you could not

Reach for the courage you were never brought

At least try to live the life you sought
