Third World

Wackyheartache4

I tend to stray from the beaten path,

To see the beauty in every laugh.

Wander through my day, waltzing in the night.

Is my journey wrong? Is it right?

To love unconditionally, is to live truly free.

Hearts heavy with hate make it impossible to see.

I don't think I'm wise, at least not more than most.

No, I'm not perfect and I'm not here to boast,

But I feel that we have one purpose here,

Weather or not that seems clear.

I've seen the world through many eyes.

I've heard the truths, and listened to lies.

The Earth is dying, and we are the catylist!

Resources crushed in the powerful's fist.

There are countless poor starving in to the streets,

Crying, dying, admitting defeat

While the rich wage war over oil and land

Is the big picture really that grand?

We need to save our mother earth, while we still have time.

Stop judging each other, stop HATING each other, and stop drawing our lines.

Hand in hand, humanity has it all.

In turmoil and conflict, humanity falls!

  • Comment from author about the poem: Unlike most of my work, this comes from my personal experiences. Rather than some dark, twised tale, "Third World" contains a clear and honest message that I wish everyone would take the time to read and think about.
