Yesterday

Gino

Ah, how long ago
there was a wonderful time it seems,
when she delicately knitted

her enchanting charms
upon my world of unrest

Deep through the episodes of my life
were a burdensome calamity
awaiting me at every corner,
until her beautiful light

rescued and redeemed me

Her kiss and touch resuscitated

every void within me,
to fill the vase she planted

with the passion of my heart's desire

Her flawless skin and beauty
cultivated my earthly desires

to an ecstasy of heaven,
to exile away all emptiness and longing

Her resonating song

frequently accompanied me
to a perfection of a timeless bliss

Then a day came
when the ills of this world
performed their utter vile conspiracies
and polluted our harmony

to shades of gray

Destiny's woes proceeded

in their undertaking,
cutting away my chosen

and eternal flower
to my fall from grace
