Hold Me

Gino

Hold me,

Gather me,

Before I sift Into a dream

Entice me

Bedevil me

Before I go mad

The world is naked without you

As your dream is laid before me,

Come and claim me

Before the hourglass runs empty

Oh, I run straight ahead

Unknowingly to a path I can’t comprehend,

My dear, please show me the way

To your door

Your kiss lays before me

As I trouble to make it there,

For your voice is not near as I hear your call

And there is no where to find you

But still, your shadow remains

The night is weary,

As trouble brews not long before this night,

For I find you alone and lost

Knowing not where you want to go,

But lying there in bewilderment

Through the smoke

Of past lies and half-truths

Surrender this night,

Come and hold me,

For tonight is our claim

And the world is our game

Let’s author this evening

With supple and wine,

Be my muse

And I’ll forever be your song
