A Parting Lover but Life Long Friend

RebeccaRose.x

Im sorry that I hurt you
And that I caused you pain
I'm sorry that I played the part
That took your heart away

I'm sorry you have to stand there
Debating what it's for
I'm sorry that I've made you frightened
About me walking out the door

But there are things I'm not sorry for

I'm not sorry for believing in you
Or for getting to see that smile
I'm not sorry for caring for you
And for us laughing for a while

I'm not sorry that I met you
And I am so proud to know your name
I'm not sorry that you let me
Slowly show that I was insane

And there are things I'm grateful for

I'm grateful for the laughter
And even for the tears
I'm grateful for the happiness
You gave me this early year

I'm grateful to your kindness
Your generosity and worth
I'm grateful for your wisdom
That few people have on this earth

Please don't think your nothing
Or that I could come and go as I please
For yes we may part as lovers
But you'll always be a friend to me
