Light Liberty

Fits tune: Chalfont Park

(one tune to 'Eternal Light! Eternal Light!')

Based on 1 John 1 v.4 - 10

**********

For I am with you, says the Lord

Go forth now, hear my word

Follow in each my steps each day

For I the Life, the Truth, the Way

Continue, watch and pray

This be the message John declared

He with all peoples shared

That God is light, in Him no dar

Is found at all, unto Him hark

And His words truly mark

If we say we have fellowship

With Him, so say our lips

But if we walk in darkness we

Do lie, do not His true light see

Nor comforts to us be

But if we in the light do walk

In all our deeds and talk

Walk in the light, as Christ does sure

So His blood cleanses us e'ermore

Redeems us, makes us pure

If we say we do have no sin

We deceive selves within

And the truth is not in us, so

Forgiveness then we shall not know

Blocked is the healing flow

The flow of Christ's blood, to us made

For He our debt has paid

If confessing to Him our sins

He that forgiveness, cleansing brings

Our soul to Him then sings

For faithful He is to forgive

To cleanse from sins, we live

And wash away unrighteousness

Thus with His grace He will us bless

As we our sins confess

We cannot hope another way

To find that light of day

If we do say we have sinned not

We retain then, unhappy lot

Our sin's stain like dark blot

      Good write.

The oldest Book of Common Prayer that I have is 1929 and I don't think that is old enough for what you want.

Thanks G. We've got a small 1662 Book here at home somewhere. Smaller size then used in church.
