The one that got away

aspire to be

I think of you still from time to time 

the moments we shared were indeed sublime 

you made me laugh you made me cry 

i took you for granted and said goodbye 

I know you're happy now in your new life 

i see you around sometimes with your new wife 

i pretend that I don't care that you've moved on 

i pretend I'm happy but it's all a con

regret fills me now so much I cannot bare 

for when I reach for you, each  time you are not there

i deserve this  misery that is now my fate 

i must let go before it's too late 

i'll  smile again of this I'm sure

to love once more a love that's pure 

so with sadness in my heart I must say 

a final goodbye to the one that got away
