First Steps

First Steps

From deep within I peer without at this world ever changing

I take in all these eyes can see my mind all the while raging

If life is short, and age comes quick, and death is truly final

Then begone with fear and hate evolve from instincts so primal

Teach all to love and all to bliss in lifes temporality

Give man a reason to keep growing into all that we can be

Find hope in every childs eyes, passion in all you do

Friendship in every hand you shake and joy in skies so blue

This road is hard and hard won by a smile in every defeat

And the reward is none but spreading life to everyone you meet

My only hope is when my children live and my time has come to go

My first few faltered steps down this path were the beginning of all they know
