Why does mommy look different her tummy grows

She's always leaving, I wonder where she goes

Daddy says there will be a new baby and I'll be a sister

And that when mommy comes home I'll have to assist her

I'm unsure about this baby she always takes mom and dad away from me

But when she giggles and holds my hand I can't help but be filled with glee

All she does is cry and wine

Now she's always grabbing and taking whats mine

She sneaks into my room at night to play

I guess sometimes she can be kinda okay

Who knew that she'd go back to being a pain

Pestering me with her friends I swear none of them have a brain

I feel proud as she gets her diplohma and walks the stage

She grows on me more and more as we age

Even though we fight a lot and disagree

I'll always be there for her, I hope she knows she can always count on me

She looks different now her tummy starts to grow

Why it stopped and broke her heart I'll never know

I'll hold her hand and lend a shoulder if she needs

Support her in any way hoping she succeeds

The struggles for her are hard and I don't want her to be so sad

Then suddenly her tummy didn't stop growing, we were all so glad

Out came this beautiful girl who looked just like her and cried the same way too

In a flash it reminded me of all we'd been through

From the moment I met her our journey has been one heck of a ride

Up and down and life came at us from every side

One thing has never changed though and still remains true to the end

She's always my family, my sister, and friend

  • Comment from author about the poem: She drives me crazy and we've had our discrepancies, but she's the only sister I got. Megan, I'll always be here for you. The boys, eh, they can take care of each other😝
