Life after death

Mrs Miller1234

There once was a man I knew. He was smart, strong and wise. He gave great courage in being wonderful.

There once was a man I knew. He gave me strength when I was weak.

There once was a man I knew. Who made me smile when I felt sad and felt  joy whenever he was around.

There once was a great man that I knew. He was tall, strong, and lit up your heart when he was near.

There once was a man I knew and loved very much and he was my father in law may you rest in peace and be forever loved.

WELCOME FRIEND ~ Thanks for your first poem ~ I really enjoyed it ! In classical poetry REPETITION is important for emphasis ! Your repetition of "There once was a (great) man I knew ~ leaves us in no doubt that this poem is about a Special Man who is dear to your heart ! God is good and if our own Parents disappoint He often provides us with a lovely Father (or Mother) in law to compensate. This is the essence of your story. Your poem tells us that he had all the attributes of a Perfect FATHER and he obviously saw you as the perfect DAUGHTER (in law). You were very blessed ~ thank you for a perfect tribute. Such a Man will "rest in peace" and he will be forever loved ! Please check my Poems ~ Thanks BRIAN (UK)
