She’s weak but strong.
She’s terrified but brave.
She’s heartbroken but loving.
She’s in pain, but never shows you.
She’s crying, but hides her tears when you find her.
She’s screaming for help, but can’t accept the only way out.
She’s hiding behind loves deepest lies.
She’s hiding behind a future she can only dream for.
She’s hiding behind the love she only wishes she could have.
Why?
One word:
You.
She suffers through the love lost.
She suffers through the darkness in his eyes.
She suffers through the heaviness of his heart.
Why is she doing this?
Why is she still holding on?
Why can’t she let go?
Why?
One word:
You.
It is not her fault.
It is not what she wants.
It is not for her.
It is for you.
It is for your future.
It is for your life to be fulfilled, as hers wasn’t.
So, stop blaming her.
Stop hating her.
Stop ignoring her.
Do you not see her hiding?
Do you not see her suffering?
Do you not see that it is not her fault?
She cries all night, but supports you all day.
She makes enough for herself, but gives it all to you.
She questions her worth, but never questions you.
She is ready to crumble.
She is ready to fall.
She is ready to give up.
But, she stands up.
She covers her heavy eyes.
She faces another day.
Why?
It is all for one Word:
You.
Carry her.
Support her.
Comfort her.
And most of all,
Love her,
Because She is your Mother.

Very nice write, welcome to mps!
WELCOME KAIT ~ Thanks for your first poem on MPS ! It is really beautiful in both Structure and Subject. Repetition is important in classical poetry and your repeated Why ? One word: You emphasises your premise ~ the it is we ~ her Children ~ who are responsible for much of the pain ans anxiety suffered by our Mothers. I do love my Mum and she is always there for me 24/7 even though I have left home and live in my own flat but i see her several times most weeks ! I do carry ~ support and comfort her and try not to cause her (or my Dad) too much grief ! Thanks for caring and sharing. Please check my Poems ~ Yours BRIAN (UK)
