The world continues to turn
The stars still brightly burn
Bustling streets stay alive and full
The day doesn't stop bringing the bright sun
The night still calls and beckons for fun
Little boys and girls play with cars and dresses of tulle
People smile and move on
Yet, I feel empty because your gone
*********************************
Fake okays and I'm alright
My mind stuck in the darkest of night
I just try to muddle through
Every step feels like my feet are in concrete
My chest aches with every heartbeat
I feel short of breath no matter what i do
I count down every dusk and every dawn
They seem so long because your gone
*********************************
Tears fall and cover my cheeks
You haven't even been gone a few weeks
I must hide and pretend to be strong
It seems silly to feel so helpless this way
I know that really everything's okay
It's just I'll be without you for so long
I know you'll be back, I'll hang on
It's just so hard because you're gone

- Comment from author about the poem: Missing the hubby. Feeling the blues today. My kids love them to death but sometimes I swear I'm raising monsters. Then the refrigerater broke, didn't know until I got home at the end of the day. Oh yeah, that was a lovely smelly mess. And like right after the guy finished fixing it anand left my washing machine vomits water, flooding the entire laundry room into the hallway. *sits in a corner repeating "positive thoughts, positive thoughts"* Good times. Poem could use a bit of work, probably end up editing it eventually.
