The wall

Wren Ann

It's a game,

I get further and further,

but then a wall emerges in front of me.

The maze seems to grow every time the wall appears,

But I realize that it was you who put it there.

You were the one to block me out,

The one who refuses to let me in.

Every advance forces me to find away around another challenge.

You have been broken by so many people,

that when a person who actually cares comes around,

a wall emerges yet again.

And so the game continues...

Learning to recognize "the wall" is key to overcoming it and driving on through it! Each of us should certainly determine whom or what the "you" is that is putting "the wall" in our paths (sometimes it's our very selves) and then take the appropriate corrective measures. Good freestyle poem.

i agree with Gary that the wall has to be seen to be what it is in people's lives - I love the freestyle you use in this poem.

Walls have doors . One should knock to let you in . Any attempt to break the wall down would simply be an invasion .

We all see walls in our lives, these walls are there to help us learn, once the wall has been surmounted we can look back at them and see how small they were. It is called experience.
    Good write.
