Parts I Can't Play

Edthepoet

I can't be the love
Your father never
Showed you
I can't be the pride
Your mother never
Shows

I can't fill the void
Your addictions have
Caused you
I can't heal the wounds
Your affliction has
Born

These are parts I can't play
In our fairytale
No I can't put those
Shards of glass
Back together again
All I can give, is a hand to hold on to
And a forever after
That awaits beyond pain.

All you can do is be there and wait, all will be well.
