The feeling

LaChunesita

I've been down this road before

The needles

The pills

Never seem to be enough

I've tried

And tried

But somehow

Can't get by

Without snorting a line

Or rolling a joint

Stabbing my arm

To get the feeling I'm high

And sure I've OD

Yes I almost died

But that didn't stop me

Not until this time

As I lie on the floor

I feel my body shake

My mouth is wide open

With white foam escaping it

My mother cries in pain

My father makes some calls

My little sister hugs her bear asking

"Sissy, what is wrong"

I see a bright light

And then nothing at all

I hear the paramedics arrive

But it's too late for Im no more

I take my last breath

And mentally say goodbye

And realize that this is the feeling

I have forever been searching for
