From A Dying Ember

poetboy5454

Raging inferno withered to dying embers

Leaving behind only ashes to remember

The once valiant light to stand against the shadows

Now simply a stain of the past without prose

Darkness cascades over the land

Fear a chain over any willing to take a stand

Lies becoming the truth, no requiem for the lost

All dreams now shattered, flames now frost

Shade recoiled, as a star lit up the night

Hope reborn, they rise inspired to fight

Blood will flow, there will be no chance to flee

War has begun our opportunity to be free

Rip off your chains as our time has come

Rage against dark, hope for our freedom

This is terrific. Love the meter.

Very good write. Like many ashes a Phoenix can arise and your/our time will come.
