You turn over
in your sheets
his scent drifting relentlessly
around your face; teasing
merciless.
Finally
in the dead of night
the decision
Enough is Enough.
You stumble
still unsure of how to function
with half a heart
Into the shower
scathing
searing
scalding water
that can burn the scent of him
from your skin
But not
from your mind.

This is really empowering, I know what this feels like and your words really allow others to understand the experience. Really nice job!
less is more and this simple work packs a powerful punch.
I too think there is good punch in this piece. Well writ, Baylee.
Wow! Powerful, beautiful piece, Baylee. The punch at the end really makes it! That is what I strive to incorporate into mine. I look forward to more of your work.
Takes us into the moment with consequences .
I really like this, great meter, and alliteration, out loud it reads effortlessly, with a little bit of surprise at the end.
Thank you everyone!
