As we walked together,
I felt the cold comfort of your knife
Against my throat.
You sensed my trust,
As those beautiful moments
Of uncertainty passed.
In the darkness of your heart:
The power to end my existence
At any moment; I was afraid.
Not fearful for love of life
Or the mysteries of this place,
But for love of you.
You let me into the darkest chambers of your being;
I forgave you.
You revealed to me your insecurities and secrets.
I loved you.
You promised me.
I believed you.
