An Entry + Someone Else

little lay lay

An Entry....

I never thought much of the world.

I saw myself as cruel and naive as the next person.

I've had my heart ripped out, and somehow i can still breathe.

Someone Else...

I've thought much of the world.

I never saw myself as who I am, because I don't know.

I listen to everyone decide who I am, and somehow I can still breathe.

  • Comment from author about the poem: this "2 part" poem is about how we always have the same outcome, breathing. You could be terrible and cruel or simply trying to figure yourself out as a person but you are still breathing. I'm going to be honest. I still don't really know who I am, but I am willing to breathe my poems into life to figure myself out, because I know I have bad days and sometimes I get hurt, but all in all i still breathe.

Welcome BIANCA ~ Thank you for an intriguing duo of poems. For all of us LIFE is a Roller Coaster ~ on day up ~ the next down (I prefer to be up !) we can be hungry ~ thirsty ~ lonely and unloved ~ BUT ~ w keep breathing ! Provided our lungs are working the AIR we breath is free ~ and just the right composition 79% N 20% O and 1% CO2 ~ noble gasses etc ! Your poem highlights the importance of respiration and ~ when all else fails ~ we must BREATH or PERISH. We can survive 3 weeks without FOOD ~ 3 days without WATER ~ but only 3 minutes without BREATHING (OXYGEN) ! Thanks for SHARING ~ Yours Brian (UK) Please check my poems ~ Yours B.

Expressing ourselves through poetry is a great way to learn who we are, Bianca. It can be very therapeutic.
