Beast

IDiedLastNight

Gently whispered

Yet seldom said

With Sleepless nights

And thoughts of dread

It comes to those

That wait to long

Mumbling the words

That came like a song

I have walked its halls

I have come to see

The beast that slumbers

Deep inside of me

So raise a glass

But not to toast

The beast just wants

The final boast

I can relate, IDLN. I, too harbor a slumbering beast inside of me. I try to avoid disturbing it. Well done poem!
