Fits tune: Regent Square
('Lord of beauty, Thine the splendour')
Part of Psalm 30
********
I will extol you, O LORD, great
You lifted me up, my state
Here my foes rejoice not o'er me
You heard my cry, me did see
And have healed me, raised me up sure
You save my soul evermore
From the grave you have up brought me
Kept me alive, here I be
So sing to the LORD, we shall do
He does save, and does renew
At remembrance of Him holy
Give thanks you saints, His you be
For His anger for a moment
Endures, favour He has sent
In His favour there is life bright
Weeping may endure a night
But joy comes then in the morning
Rise from darkness, to Him sing
Hear, O LORD, have mercy on me
Come to me, my helper be
You for me my mourning have turned
Into dancing, grace unearned
And my sackcloth you discarded
With gladness you me girded
So that then my tongue, my glory
May praise you, your goodness see
And I shall not silent here be
But shall worship strong and free
O LORD my God, everlasting
Thanks for ever I you bring

His anger does endure
Ask moses after forty years
He can be as merciless
To the towns and kingdoms
That think their Golden God is best
But eternal does he bless
All his love
And not one drop less
Holy Father hear my plea
Share you saving grace with me
Thanks S.
