Loss

poetboy123

Can a soldier lose their blade

and have their fury simply fade

Or has it simply hidden away?

Can a blacksmith douse his flame

and still truly remain the same

Or have they just lost their way?

Can a lion suffer the loss of their roar

and somehow continue as before

Or did they now become the prey?

Can a bird be deprived of their wings

and still valiantly retain the melody they sing

Or have they forever fallen astray?

I feel as if I may have lost my pen

And I don't know where to go from then

Is it the end, have I lost my call?

Or will I rise and stand tall?

I love the rhythm you create with this poem. Nicely done.

We ALL go through seasons where we can't find a muse. Sometimes our blindness gets in the way and sometimes it's because there's just nothing inspiring. That's a time when I go and write about how uninspired and lost I feel much like this poem. Good read!!

You have obviously risen with these words.
