Prom Night

ShannonXx

Prom night

A time filled with much fun in sight

Dancing and drinking with all our might

But I drank far too much that night

Only to hide my hurt and cries

I was a mess

A joke in people's eyes

I only wanted to lose myself

Put on a disguise

I wanted to forget her and the pain she caused

But I was so drunk

I needed her there to keep me warm

I called her name so many times

She never paid attention

Having the time of her life

She eventually did come outside

Only to walk straight past my side

It tore me up inside

Then I realised someone else was beside me the whole time

Holding me in her arms

Stroking my hair

While listening to her heart beat

She showed me she cared

From then on I knew she was the one to keep me warm

I knew I could then move on from the one who didn't deserve me at all

The real ones always come out when we are down, that's for sure. Write on, Shannon.
