Goodbye

Hali

When our paths became entwined,

This world had torn you apart.

I was your healer - your victim.

We fed off each other like vampires:

Descending into deep dependency;

Becoming mirrors of corrupt beauty.

 For a few moments

Our love had no need for words:

The waves of our hearts broke

In perfect synchronisation;

The soft tides of our breathing

Rose and fell as one.

But in this cold clockwork world,

Every flower wilts and dies;

Every mirror shatters.

Wordless goodbyes are always

The most painful.
