Reality of War

poetboy123

Put on the cheery, hopeful music and march ahead

Justify every drop of blood and everyone that's dead

Tell the masses it's all being done for the right

While deals are struck under the cover of night

Send out the army, equipped with tanks and guns

Doesn't matter who's in your way, it had to be done

For whatever purpose you may pretend to seek

As lives are shredded apart by the havoc you wreak

If anyone disagrees with your aim and tries to fight

Shun their freedom and crush them with your might

In this game, your wrong is their right and nothing more

With the cards stacked against the truth, reality of war

And when the battle is won and celebration ensues

Remember the loser is never the only one to lose

For every bullet shot and every sacrifice

Only the innocent were there to pay the price

So who really won?

You go to war to take something from someone else . From another nation , another's freedom , or ideas of religion land , oil , gold , sheep , cattle , women , children . Or you take something from your own nation , men , money , political freedom , or religious freedom , land , oil , gold , sheep , cattle , women , children . Hmmm , sounds the same on either side .
