I just can't

Fluatist

People say that I should forget him,
get over him, find someone else,
but I can't, I can't do that,
I want to, but I can't.
I can't forget him after all the memories,
I just can't get over him because I'll never forget him.
Sure, it might be the best for me if I forgot him, get over him, but I just can't,
not after all the times we talked,
not the deep conversations at midnight,
not even the things he told me about.
I just can't right now.

Who says you have too ?

You could always keep him in your mind and still move on.

The word 'can't' is but a meaningless, self imposed restriction we burden ourselves with. Give it time ... as you already know by your poem's last statement, you can and will, Fluatist.
